SALARY: $120-150,000.00
SEEKING:
An individual, technically strong and having experience pursuing chemical regulatory approvals with eco-labeling activities. The candidate must be a highly motivated individual and who is a strong team player.
· BS, MS, PhD in chemical or environmental engineering
· Demonstrated proficiency with chemical registration and approval
· Experience with EPA TSCA and EC REACh
· 5-10 years relevant work experience
· Demonstrated project management experience
· Capability to form, develop, and manage internal teams
It will be the responsible for pursuing approvals from and/or interacting with the Environmental Protection Agency, European Commission REACH and other chemical regulatory agencies, and industry stakeholders as required facilitating acceptance and approval of the company's portfolio of renewable chemical products. The position will frequently collaborate with the commercial development team to ensure regulatory compliance coordination.
Further, this manager will be expected to work closely with legal, commercial, and engineering staff as well as with external consultants in executing these activities and may be required to form and manage coalitions with industry stakeholders. The position will provide strategic input with respect to regulatory requirements and government policy-based opportunities or limitations.
This manager shall specifically be charged to develop and implement the programs and processes that ensure products comply with national/regional/global regulations and meet industrial customer expectations. The successful candidate will determine and develop approaches to assignments, lead projects in liaison with other functions, industrial customers and third parties, and deliver solutions that enable regulatory process improvement. The focus is on the chemical regulations, as well as supplying information pertaining to chemical product eco-labeling. The successful candidate will have the responsibility to ensure that documented evidence to support compliance and environmental sustainability claims are maintained to ensure conformance to internal and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
· Interpreting regulatory requirements, coordinating testing programs, and analyzing test results, preparing documents related to regulatory approval in accordance with industry best practices, and meeting with regulatory agencies.
· Review and interpret chemical and physical analysis
· Evaluate regulatory compliance risks due to new and/or emerging regulations
· Lead cross-functional working groups to develop regulatory implementation plans
· Support overall compliance strategy
· Develop and monitor/manage project plans ensure completion of tasks to timelines
· Responsible for individual product compliance as well as product portfolio compliance
· Develop compliance assurance system for chemical products
· Facilitate position statements for identified regulatory topics
On a product specific basis, regulatory tasks will include:
· Classification, listing, registration and eco-labeling, (e.g. TSCA, REACH, GHS, and CLP) Chemical notification and reporting in markets (e.g. countries) where required
· On an overall product portfolio basis, regulatory tasks will include:
· Registration and notification of substances (often volume dependant), e.g. substance volume
· Tracking under REACH, chemical restrictions and authorization industry liaison role: contact for regulatory industry issues topics and support implementation of chemical regulations
